Premium check: This is how the check works
Below you can see the individual examination steps of the Premium Check. You will get a clear overview of which medical examinations are carried out and how they build on each other.
The Premium Check takes around 2 hours in total. All examinations and the final medical consultation take place in one appointment.
Step 1: Laboratory analysis in your own practice laboratory
A blood sample and urine sample are taken at the start of the Premium Check. This laboratory analysis examines a particularly broad spectrum of blood and urine values. This allows your state of health to be assessed very precisely – including organ functions, metabolism, cardiovascular system, hormone levels and possible inflammation and risk factors
Among other things, the following are being investigated:
Your benefit
The comprehensive laboratory analysis gives you a very complete overview of almost all important organ, metabolic and risk systems.
Many illnesses or stressful situations can be detected at an early stage and medically classified in conjunction with the other examinations of the Premium Check.
The analysis is carried out entirely in the practice’s own laboratory. This means that all laboratory results are already available at the final medical consultation – with no waiting time and no additional appointment.
Step 2: Cardiovascular diagnostics (rest & exercise)
In the Premium Check, your cardiovascular system is examined both at rest and under physical stress. This allows a differentiated assessment of your current heart function, exercise capacity and possible risks.
Pulse, blood pressure and oxygen measurement
These basic examinations provide a quick overview of your cardiovascular condition.
Resting ECG
The resting ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart in a relaxed state. It shows the heart rhythm, conduction pathways and possible circulatory disorders. The examination is painless and only takes a few minutes.
Exercise ECG (ergometry)
During an exercise ECG, the heart is tested under physical exertion. While you pedal on a bicycle ergometer, your heart rate, blood pressure and ECG curve are continuously monitored. This shows how your heart and circulation react to stress.
Your benefit
The combination of resting and exercise tests enables a clear assessment of your physical performance. Exercise-related heart problems, blood pressure, arrhythmia or circulatory disorders can be detected and medically classified at an early stage.
Step 3: Lungs & vessels – performance and blood circulation
The Premium Check specifically examines lung function and vascular health. This makes it possible to assess how well oxygen uptake, physical resilience and blood circulation interact.
Pulmonary function test (spirometry)
The lung function test measures respiratory volume and respiratory flow. It checks how much air you can breathe in and out and how quickly this happens. The examination shows whether the lungs are working freely or whether there are indications of constrictions or restrictions.
ABI measurement (ankle-brachial index)
The ABI measurement compares the blood pressure in the arms and legs. This makes it possible to determine whether the leg arteries are supplied with blood freely or whether there are indications of circulatory disorders. The examination is painless, quick and provides important information on vascular health.
Your benefit
Assessment of lung performance and detection of possible airway constrictions. Important for the holistic assessment of performance, endurance and resilience.
Early detection of arteriosclerosis or vasoconstriction and important assessment of personal cardiovascular risk.
Step 4: Ultrasound diagnostics of the internal organs
In the Premium Check, central internal organs are examined using modern ultrasound technology. Ultrasound diagnostics are gentle, radiation-free and complement laboratory and cardiac diagnostics.
Ultrasound of the abdomen (abdominal sonography)
Ultrasound of the abdomen enables a structured assessment of many central organs and ideally complements laboratory and cardiac diagnostics. Among other things, the following are being investigated:
Note:
For the ultrasound examination of the abdomen, it is advisable to fast 2-3 hours before the appointment (no food, water is permitted).
Ultrasound of the thyroid gland
An ultrasound of the thyroid gland visualizes its size, structure and possible changes. The examination is painless and shows whether the organ is inflamed, enlarged or has nodular changes. As thyroid disorders – especially in southern Germany – are often the cause of tiredness, listlessness or weight fluctuations, the ultrasound provides important additional information to the laboratory values (e.g. TSH).
Your benefit
Ultrasound diagnostics enables a structured, radiation-free assessment of central internal organs and is a useful addition to laboratory and cardiac diagnostics. Organ changes, functional abnormalities or stress can be detected at an early stage and classified medically.
Step 5: Physical & medical examination
A brief basic clinical examination is carried out as part of the physical examination. This includes listening to the heart and lungs, checking the pulse and blood pressure, visual findings and other indicative examinations – depending on the doctor’s assessment.
Your benefit
The physical examination supplements the technical and instrumental examinations with the overall medical impression. Findings from laboratory, ultrasound and functional diagnostics are assessed in a direct clinical context. This makes it easier to classify abnormalities and make medically sound decisions.
Step 6: Final medical consultation & written report
All findings are discussed in detail, clearly and in a medical context during the personal medical consultation. Thanks to the practice’s own laboratory, all laboratory values are already available in full during the appointment.
You will receive a clear medical assessment of your current state of health based on the entire diagnostic process – including laboratory analyses, cardiovascular, pulmonary and ultrasound examinations.
We discuss together which results are normal and where there are indications of stress, risks or findings that require treatment. This results in specific recommendations for further action – from prevention and lifestyle to further diagnostics or treatment.
Optionally, the consultation can be supplemented by an individual micronutrient consultation.
Your benefit
You receive an understandable, overall medical assessment of all test results – without any unanswered questions.
All laboratory values are available during the consultation – without waiting time and without an additional appointment. You go home with clear, actionable recommendations for your health.
After the appointment, you will also receive a written final report that clearly summarizes the most important results and recommendations.
Note: The check-ups offered are individual health services (IGeL), which are billed in accordance with the scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ). The costs are generally not covered by statutory health insurance companies.
