Men's check - Healthcare for men over 35

The men's check-up is a targeted preventive examination for men aged 35 and over, focussing on typical male health risks.

It provides a compact, medically sound assessment of the cardiovascular system, metabolism, hormones and prostate - precise, understandable and in one appointment.

Thanks to our own practice laboratory, all relevant results are already available during the final medical consultation and are categorised immediately. This provides you with quick clarity and specific recommendations for your further preventive healthcare.

Who is the men's check suitable for?

The men's check is particularly useful for you if one or more of the following points apply to you:

You are over 35 and would like to recognise typical male risks at an early stage - even without current symptoms.
You are under stress at work or at home and would like a medical assessment of possible stress.
You have a family history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes or prostate problems.
You are looking for targeted preventive care for your heart, metabolism, hormones and prostate that goes beyond statutory preventive care.
You want clarity and certainty instead of waiting and guessing.

What the men's check can do for you

Clarity about typical male risks: Structured assessment of heart, metabolism, hormone status and prostate.
Early detection of relevant changes: Indications of cardiac, metabolic or hormonal disorders can be recognised at an early stage.
Targeted prostate screening: Medical assessment of the prostate including PSA test and ultrasound as an important part of early detection.
All results in one appointment: Thanks to our own practice laboratory, all laboratory values are already available during the medical consultation.
Individual medical recommendations: Clear categorisation of all findings and specific advice on sensible next steps.
Pension provision with added value: These examinations are generally not covered by statutory health insurance before the age of 50.

The men's check-up is offered as an individual health service (IGeL).

Men's check: This is how the check works

The men's check is structured and focuses specifically on typical health risks for men - in particular the cardiovascular system, metabolism, hormones and prostate.

The men's check-up takes approx. 45 - 60 minutes. All examinations and the final medical consultation take place in one appointment.

Step 1: Laboratory analysis in our own practice laboratory

At the beginning of the men's check-up, a blood sample and a urine sample are taken. Key laboratory values that are particularly relevant for typical male risks are analysed - including metabolism, heart health, hormone status and prostate.

Among other things, the following are analysed:

HbA1c (long-term blood glucose)
Testosterone
PSA (prostate-specific antigen)
Urine status

The analysis is carried out in the in-house laboratory, so that all results are already available in full in the subsequent consultation with the doctor.

Your benefit

You will receive a quick, clear overview of your most important areas of health as a man - in particular metabolism, heart, hormones and prostate. Typical risks can be recognised at an early stage and medically assessed without having to wait or make a second appointment.

Step 2: Basic cardiovascular and circulatory check

In the next step, basic cardiovascular parameters are recorded under resting conditions. These examinations provide an important overview of circulatory stress and vascular health.

To be carried out:

Pulse and blood pressure measurement
Pulse oximetry (oxygen saturation)
ABI measurement (ankle-brachial index) to assess the blood flow in the leg arteries

Your benefit

Early indications of cardiovascular stress, circulatory disorders or an increased risk of arteriosclerosis. The results help to realistically assess personal cardiovascular risks - even without existing symptoms.

Step 3: Ultrasound of the abdomen incl. prostate assessment

As part of the ultrasound examination, central internal organs are assessed gently and without radiation. The prostate is also assessed via the abdominal wall for orientation purposes.

Among other things, the following are analysed:

Liver
Gallbladder and bile ducts
Kidneys
Spleen
Pancreas (as far as can be seen)
Aorta (e.g. dilatation / aneurysm screening)
Urinary bladder
Prostate (orientating assessment)

Your benefit

Early detection of organic changes or abnormalities, especially in conjunction with laboratory values such as PSA. Ultrasound is a useful addition to laboratory and cardiac diagnostics and provides additional safety for screening.

Step 4: Final medical consultation & discussion of findings

Possible abnormalities are categorised together and specific recommendations for further action are given - from preventive care and lifestyle recommendations to further diagnostics, if necessary.

Your benefit

You leave the appointment with a clear, medical assessment of your health as a man - with no unanswered questions, no waiting times and concrete guidance for the next steps.

Note: The check-ups offered are individual health services (IGeL), which are billed in accordance with the scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ). The costs are generally not covered by statutory health insurance companies.
