Power check - check-up for tiredness and loss of performance

Do you feel tired, exhausted or notice that your resilience is declining? The Power Check helps to clarify possible medical causes in a structured way - in one appointment.

Thanks to our practice's own laboratory, the most important blood values are already available during the visit. This means that common triggers such as thyroid dysfunction, vitamin D deficiency or silent inflammation can be recognised promptly and clearly classified during the medical consultation.

A fixed component is also the determination of NT-proBNP, a marker that can provide early indications of possible stress on the heart.

Who is the Power-Check suitable for?

The Power Check is particularly useful for you if one or more of the following points apply to you:

You have been feeling tired, exhausted or less resilient for weeks or months - despite getting enough sleep.
Your physical or mental performance has noticeably declined.
You have the feeling of „not really getting going“ without being able to name a clear cause.
You would like to clarify whether medical factors such as thyroid, inflammation, vitamin status, iron deficiency  or cardiac stress play a role.
You want a structured, medically based clarification instead of further self-observation or assumptions - especially from around the age of 35.

What the Power Check can do for you

The Power Check enables targeted medical clarification of tiredness, exhaustion and reduced performance. Central laboratory values, cardiovascular parameters and the thyroid gland are examined in a structured manner and categorised by a doctor.

The aim is to reliably recognise medical causes and derive specific, comprehensible recommendations for action.

Clarity about the cause of your reduced energy and resilience. Instead of assumptions, you will receive a medically sound assessment of possible triggers.
Early detection of common causes. For example, thyroid dysfunction, vitamin D deficiency, silent inflammation, iron deficiency or stress.
All results in one appointment. Thanks to the practice's own laboratory, all laboratory results are already available during the consultation - without waiting time and without a second appointment.
Specific medical recommendations. You will receive clear advice on energy balance, metabolism, immune system and, if necessary, further action.
Standard determination of NT-proBNP (cardiac marker / cardiac hormone). For early assessment of possible cardiac stress - an important addition in the event of a drop in performance or exhaustion.

The Power Check is offered as an individual health service (IGeL).

Power check: This is how the check works

Below you can see the individual examination steps of the Power Check. You will get a clear overview of which medical examinations are carried out and how they build on each other.

The Power Check takes around 2 hours in total. All examinations and the final medical consultation take place in one appointment.

Step 1: Laboratory analysis in your own practice laboratory

At the beginning of the Power Check, a blood sample is taken and central laboratory values are analysed, which are often the cause of tiredness, fatigue or reduced performance.

As part of this laboratory analysis, a particularly wide range of blood and urine values are analysed. This allows your state of health to be assessed very precisely - including organ functions, metabolism, cardiovascular system, hormone levels and possible inflammations and risk factors

Among other things, the following are analysed:

Small blood count
Thyroid values (TSH, fT3, fT4)
Cortisol
Vitamin D
CRP (inflammation marker)
Ferritin (iron balance)
NT-proBNP (heart marker)

The analysis is carried out in the practice's own laboratory so that all results are already available in full during the subsequent consultation with the doctor.

Your benefit

You will receive a quick, well-founded assessment of key factors influencing energy, metabolism and cardiac stress - without waiting time and without a second appointment.

Step 2: Basic cardiovascular check

In the power check, basic cardiovascular parameters are recorded under resting conditions. These tests show how the heart and circulation are currently working and whether there are any signs of stress, exhaustion or circulatory problems.

To be carried out:

Pulse and blood pressure measurement
Pulse oximetry (oxygen saturation)

These examinations show how the heart and circulation are currently working and whether there are any indications of stress, exhaustion or circulatory problems.

Your benefit

Clear classification of whether cardiovascular factors can contribute to reduced resilience or fatigue.

Step 3: Ultrasound of the thyroid gland

An ultrasound of the thyroid gland assesses the size, structure and possible changes in the organ. The examination is painless and provides important additional information to the laboratory values (e.g. TSH).

In southern Germany in particular, thyroid disorders are a common cause of tiredness, listlessness and weight fluctuations.

Your benefit

Reliable clarification of whether the thyroid can be a possible cause of your complaints - structurally and functionally.

Step 4: Final medical consultation & categorisation of the findings

In the final medical consultation, all examination results are discussed together in an understandable manner. Laboratory values, cardiovascular findings and ultrasound results are categorised in a medical context.

This will be clarified,

which findings are unremarkable,
where possible causes for your complaints may lie
and whether there is a need for further action.

On this basis, you will receive a clear medical assessment and specific recommendations on how to proceed.

Your benefit

You leave the appointment with medical clarity, comprehensible results and concrete next steps - instead of unanswered questions or uncertainty.
